HALF BEEF (better known as a SIDE OF BEEF)

This consists of the Hind Quarter and Fore Quarter combined.

Our freezer beef weighs approximately 450 Lbs. hanging weight @ going rate of $3.75 per lb.

The price is your cost of the hanging beef only and does not include slaughter or butchering fees.

Hanging Cost 450 lbs x $3.75 = $1687.50

Approximately 30% loss through cutting (bones and fat). 450 lbs x .30 = 135 lbs.

  • Net Beef: 450 lbs – 135 lbs = 315 lbs
  • Slaughtering charge: $75.00
  • Butcher processing charges: 450 lbs x $.75 = $337.00
  • Total Costs: $2099.50.00
  • Net Cost Per Pound: $6.66 for every pound in your freezer.

This amount varies depending on cutting instructions.

We put your name on list and require your choice of local area butcher. When we have the beef scheduled for slaughter we require a $500 deposit. We will call you to with the final price of the hanging beef after slaughter, give instructions on how to relay your cutting and wrapping orders to the custom butcher. After you have paid the balance of the beef cost to Twin Oak Farms we will release the beef to you at the butcher. Cost of the processing varies depending on the extra charges incurred (ie patties, tenderizing, slaughtering charges, specialty items) which is paid directly to the butcher.
